Dr. Melissa McNulty, PT, DPT, COMT
Community Care Coordinator, Physical Therapist
Dr. McNulty joined Healing Motion Physical Therapy in December of 2019, after relocating from Alaska to Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
Mel graduated with honors from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She later earned, with distinction, her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University in 2011.
After graduate school, Mel returned home to Alaska and served the Matanuska Susitna Valley in the outpatient orthopedic setting for seven and a half years. She is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) and is also trained in basic Manual Lymphatic Drainage and fascial manipulation. In addition, she is skilled in both land-based and aquatic therapeutic exercise prescription and trained in the sensory motor control model emphasizing spinal and upper/lower quarter stabilization. Among her favorite patients to treat are the “silver seniors,” the quintessential weekend warrior, and anyone determined to become his/her best possible self. Mel considers it a privilege to practice physical therapy and strives to provide personalized and unparalleled care through hands-on treatment, education, and of course, healing motion.
Outside the clinic, Mel enjoys spending time with her husband, Shawn, and radical rescue dog, Mason. She also enjoys time with her family, including local niece, Olivia, and nephew, Henry. Mel volunteers in Corvallis with OSU’s Multiple Sclerosis Exercise Program and assists with her family’s local B&B, MaMere’s Guesthouse, in Monmouth. She also loves football and is an avid “Sixburgh” Steelers’ fan.
