Dr. Emily Houston, PT, DPT, OCS
Physical Therapist, Pelvic Health Specialist
Dr. Houston joined Healing Motion Physical Therapy in February of 2023.
Originally from the Corvallis area, Emily is delighted to now be living and working in the community after years away. She graduated from Colorado College magna cum laude in 2009, then worked in education in the Bay Area. While there, she discovered her career passion and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015 from UC San Francisco/San Francisco State University. Emily began her career working in orthopedics at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. She completed a one-year residency program to specialize in this field, and is board certified as a clinical specialist in Orthopedics. Emily then spent 4 years working as a Physical Therapist in California. She started a successful PT clinic in association with the Indian Health Clinic on the reservation near her town. Here she treated a wide range of ages and presentations, also starting an Aquatic PT program and advancing her treatment in Pelvic Health.
Emily found her calling as a Physical Therapist in the field of Pelvic Health, and holds a Certificate of Advanced Practice in Physical Therapy in Pelvic Health. She uses a patient-centered, holistic approach and is committed to helping each patient meet his/her goals through therapy. She loves the variety of people and presentations she works with and is particularly passionate about working with women in pregnancy and post partum, helping navigate the menopause transition, and working with pediatric patients.
Emily returned to Philomath in 2023 with her spouse and 2 young children. In her free time you can find her enjoying the outdoors with her family: hiking, running, biking, gardening, playing in the woods or curled up reading with her kids.
